The SDCHM will screen Finding Samuel Lowe, a film based on the book Finding Samuel Lowe: China, Jamaica, Harlem by Paula Williams Madison, a New York Post must-read book. The story follows Madison and her two siblings from Harlem as they unfold the mystery of their heritage, leading them to the story of their Chinese grandfather, Samuel Lowe. This film was an official selection at the San Diego Black Film Festival in 2015, and we are excited to host the screening as it makes its return to San Diego. Author and filmmaker Paula Williams Madison will be joining us at the museum for a book signing.
