Kumail, a struggling stand-up comedian, meets Emily, a heckler at his show. Their casual relationship turns into something more when Emily is hospitalized by a sudden life threatening illness. Kumail comes to her aid, meeting her protective parents for the first time. All the while, he is pulled between his heart and his traditional Muslim parents? expectations of marriage. (120 minutes.
