Anguiano was an important, internationally recognized painter whose style is quintessentially Mexican. The exhibit at the La Jolla Library features work from a collection donated to Tijuana by Anguiano, the last icon of the Mexican Muralist School of painting. He is famous for painting indigenous peoples and depicting the merge between Indigenous and Spanish cultures. The exhibit also celebrates the close ties between San Diego and Tijuana, encompassing the cultural richness of the border mega-region.
