In this lecture we will discuss Mark Chagall, the world?s preeminent Jewish artist. A master of dreams and storytelling, Chagall?s unique expressive and poetic paintings will be shown and discussed. Images of childhood memories, floating people, flying goats, brides and grooms, and fiddlers on the roof. We?ll cover his paintings, stained glass windows, tapestries, and mosaics. Join us to discuss what motivated Chagall: what/who influenced him, what?s unique about his art compared to other major artists, how his art fits with other art movements in the 19th and 20th Century.
