While many people have heard the phrase, ?S?, se puede,? or are acquainted with the history of the National Farmworkers Association (NFW) or United Farm Workers (UFW), most do not know these were direct results Dolores Huerta?s organizing and activist efforts. Her legacy is an integral part of the history of American social justice movements and as the world continues to struggle against racial, gender and environmental oppressions; it is one of the guiding lights that can lead the way for current and future generations of activists who are working towards creating a more socially just and healthy world.

This event is open to UCSD students, staff, faculty, campus workers and community members.

As part of Muir College?s year long 50th Anniversary Celebration, we are honored to host renown civil rights and labor activist Dolores Huerta in dialogue with Lesly Figueroa, current UCSD AS president,
as Huerta shares her life experiences and wisdom centered around themes of environmental justice, gender, organizing and activism.
