80 Years: From Kristallnacht to Charlottesville?How History Emboldens Us to Act. Featuring keynote speaker: James McElroy, Civil Rights Attorney and former Board Chair of the Southern Poverty Law Center, which has represented many Jews who have suffered from discrimination and threats of violence in the U.S. The speaker will focus on a comparison to those who did not speak out in defense of Jews during the early days of the Holocaust and those who do not speak out today when Jews, Muslims and other minority groups have fallen victims to hate-group rhetoric and violence. This is a free event and is open to the public. It is suggested that you arrive early since seating is limited.
