Uncategorized Download To My Calendar
Have you ever wondered what happens after a peace accord is signed? In Colombia, as an outcome of the Havana Peace Talks between the Colombian government and the FARC-EP guerrilla group, the National Police was given the responsibility of implementing the points of the 2016 Final Peace Accord related to security, and to do so, created a Peacebuilding Unit called UNIPEP (La Unidad Policial para la Edificaci?n de la Paz).

Come listen to Brigadier General ?lvaro Pico Malaver, the head of UNIPEP and key participant in the peace negotiations in Havana, discuss the unique work that the unit has undertaken since even before the signing of the Colombian Final Peace Accord. UNIPEP has been working hard to consolidate peace and transform conflict in prioritized former conflict zones around the country. This will be an ideal opportunity to learn about what really happens after the signing of a peace accord in a freshly post-conflict country. You won?t want to miss it.
