The blockbuster movie Black Panther has brought Afrofuturism into mainstream pop culture. But what is this cultural concept that combines elements of science fiction and fantasy into the Black aesthetic and radical traditions? Join Afrofuturist thinker, Dr. LaWana Firyali Richmond (link is external) for an illuminating discussion of Afrofuturism and its placement of Blackness at the center of the universe.
