Join New Americans Museum and the San Diego Indian American Society for the opening reception of "Beyond Bollywood: Indian Americans Shape the Nation." Created by the Smithsonian Asian Pacific American Center and the Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Service (SITES), "Beyond Bollywood" features a presentation on Indian Americans? migration experiences, working lives, political struggles and cultural and religious contributions. The exhibit at New Americans Museum will include a large-scale installation of contemporary artwork by local artist Bhavna Mehta. Enjoy refreshments, live music and dance while experiencing this unique exhibit making its San Diego debut.
