A salute to Dizzy Gillespie and Chano Pozo featuring Jon Faddis.
In 1947, jazz master Dizzy Gillespie invited Cuban conguero Chano Pozo to participate in the Carnegie Hall concert (and subsequent European tour) that launched the modern Latin Jazz movement worldwide. Our program celebrates that key collaboration and features some of today?s most exciting jazz musicians.
Our special guests are jazz trumpeter Jon Faddis, tenor saxophonist Justo Almario and the KSDS Jazz Orchestra under the direction of Gilbert Castellanos!
