The Society Islands are central to understanding settlement patterns and human impacts among initial colonizing populations in East Polynesia. Archaeology on the island of Raiatea serves multiple roles in terms of academic research, archaeological and ecological conservation, and cultural knowledge of island residents. John O'Connor, Cultural Resource Specialist at ECORP Consulting in San Diego, will discuss his Ph.D. research in Polynesia, at Raiatea, for this month's SDCAS program. The program is free and will be held outdoors. Please bring your own seating and warm clothing.
