This virtual tour of the Japanese Buddhist Temples of Hawaii will highlight the meanings behind the art, architecture and decorations of these beautiful Temples. There will be a narrated slide show and the presenters will answer your questions.

Lecture to be conducted by doctors George and Willa Tanabe (Professors Emeritus of Religion and Art at the University of Hawaii). They visited every Temple in Hawaii (90 sites) over a three-year period to research each temple?s art, architecture and spiritual traditions.

The event is perfect for those interested in Buddhism, Hawaii, religious art and religious architecture.

Note: Hawaii is home to several Temples that have a unique Pan-Asian architecture, drawing on elements of classic Indian and Japanese designs.
