An exhibition of ikebana?the ancient fine art of Japanese flower arrangement?is offered to share the joy and peace that comes from practicing or viewing this honored art. Ikebana was begun 600 years ago by a Japanese priest in Kyoto and is now practiced worldwide by people of all ages and lifestyles. There will be over 30 arrangements on display and live demonstrations by ikebana teachers and students. The event is hosted jointly by the San Diego Sakura Chapter of the Ohara School, led by Master Teacher Jackie Zhang, and by the La Jolla/Riford Library.
