In partnership with the Comisi?n Nacional de los Derechos Humanos (CNDH, National Human Rights Commission Mexico), the exhibition features twelve (12) posters from a collection of eighty-four (84) digitalized artworks that were formerly displayed under the same title outdoors in Mexico City?s Chapultepec Park, in 2017.
Comprised of works from renowned artists and youth from all continents, the art focuses on migration and its affects on all aspects of society. This timely exhibition explores ?ways of approaching the population with the valuable support of institutions sensitive to the issue,? while offering to help in understanding ?the migratory phenomenon from the perspective of human rights, the impact it leaves on people and their repercussions in the place of origin, destination and return.? as noted in an official statement by the CNDH.
In a year that commemorates the 70th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR), UNA USA San Diego highlights a shared humanity based on the UDHR preamble acknowledging the ?inherent dignity ? equal and inalienable rights of all members of the human family [as] the foundation of freedom, justice and peace in the world.? San Diego Chapter?s Vice President of the Board of Directors, Stefania Marchina summarizes the organization?s intent with this exhibition to underline that ?the core of Human Rights is to leave no one behind by securing equality, fairness and justice for all, regardless of nationality, race or migration status.?
