The Book of Will, in CCA’s Black Box Theatre, written by one of America’s most celebrated contemporary playwrights, Lauren Gunderson, takes us to the post-Shakespearean world of Elizabethan England. Three years after Shakespeare’s death, his friends and fellow actors are horrified by the bastardized versions of his plays appearing onstage. They embark on a daring mission to preserve his legacy by publishing the First Folio of his works. Full of humor, heart, and determination, this behind-the-scenes story celebrates the enduring power of art and friendship. Directed by Steve Lipinsky, The Book of Will will leave audiences inspired and entertained.
