Featuring Vox Artis and the Ghukasyan String Orchestra, with guest choir Las Voces de San Diego -- all joined by the First Unitarian Universalist Church of San Diego's own Chalice and Women's Choirs under the direction of Music Director Tomás Acosta. The Ghukasyan String Orchestra will play alongside invited musicians, including guitar, piano, flute, and traditional folk instruments like the charango, cuatro venezolano, bombo legüero, sikus, and quena.
Program Highlights:
The program will feature songs in Spanish from Argentina, Peru, Bolivia, Venezuela, and, of course, Mexico.
We will premiere a special arrangement by Julio Morales created specifically for this concert.
The Ghukasyan String Orchestra will perform José Pablo Moncayo’s exhilarating Huapango and Tierra Mestiza, a captivating piece for solo guitar and strings.
