iCafé – Your Passport to Culture!

Global Education, in partnership with Extension, Outreach and Recreation at UC San Diego, invites you to iCafé, International Friday Café’s virtual café, teams up with campus partners to explore the world as global citizens and frequent "virtual" flyers!
Play Travel Trivia hosted by Extension (winner gets a prize!) and enjoy our Global Playground hosted by Recreation. Receive a free apron by sharing a recipe in the Cook Club! This fun global exploration happens at 12:00 PM on Fridays (Pacific Time).
Each quarter we visit different global destinations on Fridays! Check us out on Facebook and watch previous iCafé recordings too. Connect with your Triton community over culture, trivia, fitness and cuisine. Join us and bring a friend...It's free and fun of course!

Grab your familia and head over to historic Old Town to spice up your weekend for the return of the FREE annual Cinco de Mayo Fiesta Old Town! Celebrating 38 years of fiery fun, Fiesta Old Town will bring back the FUEGO as it transforms the historic Old Town San Diego, CA area into a Cinco de Mayo celebration!
As you journey through lanes of mini-tiendas (stores) you will find colorful trinkets, masterful arts & crafts and yummy cuisines. This bustling Mercado will burst with dynamic energy and flavors as the community collaborates to bring vitality back to the beloved streets of Old Town, the site of the first Spanish settlement on the U.S. West Coast featuring Mexican lore and historical sites, colorful shops and eclectic restaurants.
Distanced street performances of mariachis, ballet folkorico, flamenco and more will bring enriched vibrations and the musings of tradition as you peruse the history and modern culture of one of San Diego’s most iconic districts.:00 AMongst the Latin soundtrack, feed your curiosity and love for Old Town by exploring the museums, specialty shops and the lively streets of the Mercado where you can purchase an array of merchandise from over 100 vendors that include: handmade leather pieces, beautiful jewelry and many more treasures.
It is sure to be MUY CALIENTE, so there will be no time for a siesta at this fun-filled fiesta! Proceeds benefit the Historic Old Town Community Foundation. for additional information please visit www.CincoDeMayoOldTown.com.
Fiesta Old Town Cinco de Mayo will comply with all State and Local guidelines for Market-style activations and will provide a fun and celebratory experience that provides for distancing and mask-wearing as appropriate based on current official guidelines.
