20th Annual Heritage Day Gala

In celebration of the Annual Heritage Parade and Festivals twenty years of Heritage in the San Diego community this year?s annual Heritage Day festivities will expand from its traditional one day celebration to a three day weekend celebration and in order to render visibility to the San Diego 4th District the weekend celebration will be hosted at various venues within the community. This festival will feature music, food, activities, and art & craft items. This event is in conjunction with the "Heritage Day Parade".

The weekend will begin with a premier Heritage Gala Affair which will coincide with the culmination of Black History Month and the beginning of the San Diego Heritage weekend celebration. Rhe evening will feature a soulful dinner and reception with a program to highlight sponsors and vendors of the Heritage International Marketplace. Entertainment will include a live jazz band and Comedian Broderick Rice, a short video of San Diego?s African American trailblazers & the history of the Heritage Day Festival & Parade. There will also be a presentation of the San Diego Heritage Ambassadors Court, and the 2011 Carter G. Woodson & Multi-Cultural Bridge Award recipients
