Women's Empowerment International hosts event in Great Hall. Meet recipients of microfinance loans. Learn how microfinance creates opportunities for women in poverty, sample and learn to cook ethnic dishes; shop STAR Center Bazaar.
Women's Empowerment International provides microcredit loans as small as $50 to very poor women so they can start businesses and create new and better lives.
In partnership with nonprofit "banks for the poor," WE work with indigenous women in Mexico and Honduras and with women farmers in Africa. In San Diego, our home, they help refugee women, many of whom have spent a decade or more in refugee camps, become self-sufficient entrepreneurs.
