Juneteenth is a celebration of Black Independence Day, marked by the date of June 19, 1865 when troops delivered the message to the last of the southern slaves that slavery had been abolished. The Cooper Family has led the celebration of Juneteenth in San Diego for over 50 years. There will be free food, music and other live entertainment, cultural awareness & education, community resources, inspirational speakers, vendors, kids' fun zone and more to enjoy.
