Learn about prophecies and the truth about December 21, 2012, marked as a special day by the Maya, whose calendar first touted it as the end of a great 5,126 year cycle. The three-day event includes a keynote presentation by Don Gaspar Xiu and a premiere screening of the documentary The Alignment Within. This event is a collaboration between Dr. Jose Jaramillo and Alcala Productions, The Consulate General of Mexico in San Diego, and the Institute of the Americas. Don Gaspar Xiu is a professor and former President of the Supreme Maya Council. He is also a veteran of the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI), having served three times as Federal Deputy. A pleasing and at times polemic personality, Don Gaspar has spoken about the Maya culture in and outside of Mexico, where he has been a fervent promoter of the resurgence of Maya culture in his native state of Yucatan. He has authored several books. Among them ?El arte y el hechizo de los brujos Mayas, La Ixtabay, Los Aluxes, Los adoradores de ?dolos, and his most recent work: Los signos de las Profec?as Mayas, on which he?ll base his presentation Don Gaspar Xiu is a descendent of the Royal Dynasty of Maya Kings Uxmal and Man?.
