The United Nations Association of San Diego celebrates its annual United Nations Day. The event will feature the Deputy Director of the UN?s Outreach Division, Mr. Ramu Damodaran, as keynote speaker. Mr Damodaran has a wealth of knowledge of international issues, having been an Indian ambassador and having worked in the UN?s Department of Peacekeeping and the Secretary-General?s Executive Office.
The event is also a tribute to representatives of the University of San Diego?s Institute for Peace & Justice Women PeaceMakers Program and the International Rescue Committee of San Diego for their great efforts to support the ideals of the United Nations in our community.
A luncheon event will take place at SUFI Mediterranean Restaurant. A traditional Persian meal will be accompanied by Amir Abbas Etemadzadeh on tombak and Ramin Zoulfonoun on Persian tuned piano.
