La Jolla oil painter Paul Strahm has returned from Ireland with a second place award from Art in the Open (AITO) 2011, Europe's largest plein air painting event! Paul was the only American to receive an award in this year's paint-out, which included over 100 artists from Ireland and around the globe.
Under the sponsorship of O'Dunn Fine Art, Paul painted in various parts of the country as well as at several AITO venues. AITO participant Lori Putnam has posted a wonderful narrative blog on this plein air invitational, including a photo of Paul at work on his winning painting:
