Tonight?s performance includes rhythms and song styles reflecting the diverse heritages of Peru, including indigenous music from the Andean highlands, Criollo (Mestizo/Hispanic) music showing a strong Hispanic influence or Hispanic/indigenous blend, Afro--‐Peruvian music from the Pacific coast, and indigenous music from the Amazonian rainforest region. Many instruments used in tonight?s concert have been played in Peru for centuries, if not millennia.
