December Nights is the annual winter festival held at Balboa Park.
As a segment of the December Nights the International Cottage Festival will feature authentic music, crafts, dance and other holiday traditions from more than 30 countries. Highlighting the Christmas Festival are food samplings from around the world, including Paella from Spain, hummus and falafel from Palestine, fried plantains from Panama, and bratwurst from Austria and Germany. Traditional holiday dance, music, and costumes can been seen on the half-hour at the Cottage Stage.
Other cross-cultural festivities will take place at the Museum of Man with the return of the Tortilla Lady, roving mariachis, folkloric dancers, Holiday Hofbr?uhaus and a Christmas Cantina.
The entire Balboa Park will be filled with holiday activities, music, song, dance and dramatic performances and all sorts of vendors.
