San Diego Italian Film Festival showcases Giorgio Diritti's 2009 film, L'uomo che verra (The Man Who Will Come) illuminating a 1944 incident near Bologna, when German SS troops murdered nearly 800 local villagers for their support of partisan activity. Diritti illuminates the incident by creating an almost elegiac portrait of peasant life as seen through the eyes of an eight-year-old child. In Italian with English subtitles.
