The Pacific Islands, or Oceania, is comprised of Melanesia, Polynesia, and Micronesia. Dr. Teri Sowell, guest curator for the Museum?s exhibition Pacific Horizons, will present a lecture on Pacific Art focusing on exhibition highlights. The lecture will introduce the complex history of the region with a focus on contextual understanding and aesthetic appreciation. This is an excellent opportunity to get to know two of the Museum?s diverse support councils, the African Arts Council and the East County Chapter.
