The central Pacific nation of Kiribati is extremely vulnerable to climate change. Sea level rise and increasing salinity are threatening the lives of 105,000 people spread over 33 atolls. The ocean, which sustained the country for generations, is now the source of its destruction. The film follows Maria Tiimon as she represents Kiribati at the Copenhagen Climate Change Conference. Maria balances family pressures with her work of telling the world about Kiribati?s fate.
