When Alma was a teenager, her elders taught her about their cultural traditions, including working with seeds and feathers to create unique jewelry. Alma developed her talent as a jewelry maker and shares her beautiful works of wearable art.
Alma recently worked on a project documenting the genealogy and history of her tribe. She is part of a group who received the 2010 national Award for Science and Art in Mexico for their efforts in keeping traditional ways alive.
