An achingly human folktale in the tradition of Zora Neale Hurston.

Written by the first Black American woman to win the Olivier Award for Best New Play, Hoodoo Love is set during the Great Depression and tells the story of a young woman who has escaped the Delta cotton fields to pursue her dream of becoming a Blues singer in Memphis. She falls for a rambling Blues man and whips up a potion of hoodoo magic to win his love. But when her past catches up with her, not even the magic can protect her. A play with blues music about a woman learning to rely on herself.

This play contains mature content. Running time: Act I approx 1 hour, 12 minutes; Act II approx 55 minutes.

Admission: $ 30, $22 for seniors, students, and members of AEA, AFTRA, SAG, or TCG with a valid ID
