Empowering Afghan Women Through Climbing

With support by Mesa Rim and American Alpine Club SD Chapter, we will be joined by the Board of Directors of Ascend: Leadership through Athletics Naz Ahmed to talk about Ascend's work with young women climbing in Afghanistan. Through photos and a discussion we will follow the Ascend climbing team's success summiting several 16,000 foot peaks in the Panjshir Vally and learn about their newest goal -- to be the first all-female team to summit Afghanistan's highest peak Mt. Noshaq.
