Gilbert Castellanos is one of San Diego?s top trumpeters. For this show he performs with his Latin jazz quintet featuring IIrving Flores on piano, Omar Lopez on bass, Tomm Aros on congas and Ryan Shaw on drums. Born in Guadalajara, Mexico, trumpet whiz Gilbert Castellanos first earned local cred with the Charles McPherson quintet. He has performed with Dizzy Gillespie, Nancy Wilson, George Benson, Diana Krall, Al Jarreau, Wynton Marsalis, Charlie Hayden, Charles McPherson and Natalie Cole, to name just a few.
