Greenwood Memorial Park in San Diego celebrates Chung Yeung 2016 with kite flying performances intended to bring good luck. The time-honored event of kite flying is demonstrated by the San Diego Kite Club which flies numerous kites across the memorial park lawn.
Chung Yeung is an ancient Chinese grave-sweeping tradition conducted on the ninth day of the ninth month in the Chinese lunar calendar to care for ancestors? graves and make sacrifices of special paper money and paper winter clothing. This tradition remains an important part of cultural life in today?s Chinese community.
