The Lemon Grove Historical Society?s Remembrance Project focuses on Korea, the ?forgotten war? (1950?53) that killed millions and divided Korea into north and south of the 38th parallel. Part One features an overview of the origins and aftermath of the war by UCSD?s Dr. Todd A. Henry, author of Assimilating Seoul, which deals with Korea's colonial period (1910-1945). Combat veterans and their families will give firsthand accounts of the war and display war-related artifacts. Audience questions encouraged.
Part Two is next Saturday. The Remembrance Project examines world events and their impact on local citizenry and the hometown.
