Every October, the United Nations Association commemorates the anniversary of the United Nations, a tradition that has been upheld since its founding in San Diego in 1946. This year is a special year for the Chapter as they are celebrating 70 years of unwavering commitment to educational programs for the San Diego community. The festivities in 2016 subsequently will honor the successful programs hosted over the last decades that added significantly to San Diego's tapestry of international-diverse communities.
The organization is thrilled to be welcoming this year's Assistant Secretary-General and Deputy Director of U.N. Women, Lakshmi Puri to join our celebration. Further guests are Marilyn Sanderson, District Governor of Rotary International, San Diego and long-term supporter, Ford Roosevelt, grandson of President Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt.
