Ambassador (Ret.) of Canada, Jamal Khokhar, President and CEO of the Institute of the Americas, an independent policy center on the UCSD Campus, will discuss the ?Geopolitical Issues and Influences of Brazil: From a top 10 Global Economy to Presidential Impeachment?. What were the key factors leading to Brazil?s relative decline on the global stage and the challenges it faces domestically? He will also focus on the importance of Brazil to the U.S. and to the international community. Amb. Khokhar from 2010 to 2015 served as Canada?s Ambassador to Brazil. Earlier, he was the Director General for Latin America and the Caribbean responsible for managing the full range of Canada?s bilateral relations in the region, and he also served as Regional Director General for Latin America and the Caribbean at the Canadian International Development Agency.
