Uncategorized Download To My Calendar
Since the days of Marco Polo, China has traditionally isolated itself and kept the Western World at an arm?s length. Discover the story of the First Opium War, where miscommunication, pomposity, and smuggling, ignite the fires of war. Witness the efforts of great men as they attempt to prevent the inevitable. Explore the bitter irony of the war as British and Chinese forces clash for the first time. The Opium Wars scarred the history of China forever and led to what would be known as the ?century of humiliation.? The origins of Hong Kong and the stories behind the First Opium War will be uncovered.
