The Center for World Music is proud to present its Outdoor Summer Series. Please join us for three unique concerts featuring music from around the world. The series kicks off with Natashia Kozali performing folk songs and telling folktales from around the Caribbean on June 3. Then the series take a sonic journey to Japan with a performance by koto zither player Kyoko Takeda and shakuhachi flute player Jonathan Crick on June 10th. The CWM Summer Series concludes on June 17th in celebration of World Make Music Day (F?te de la Musique) with an outdoor concert at Balboa Park with San Diego-based Choro Sotaque playing vintage Brazilian jazz.

Join the Center for World Music and The Old Globe for free festivities, featuring San Diego-based Choro Sotaque playing vintage Brazilian jazz. The members are Stefanie Schmitz, clarinet/saxophone, Joe Amato, 7-string guitar, Gabriel Arce, cavaquinho/bandolim, and Halysson da Silva, percussion.

Get hands-on with Brazilian music through rhythm, song, dance, and drums with workshop leader Stefanie Schmitz and Marisa Serrano. Instruments provided by the Center for World Music. No experience necessary, and all ages are welcome!

Let your heart stir with the intricate melodies and vibrant beats of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in a lively instrumental performance.
