This exhibition is dedicated to nearly three centuries of American and European folk art from the Museum's collection, with many artworks on display for the very first time. Colorful quilts, whimsical whirligigs, baskets and decorative boxes will be showcased along with curious objects, such as a carnival knockdown figure, Victorian tenth-anniversary tin, and sailors' love tokens - all created by unknown makers. Figurative sculptural objects will also be on view, including works by Felipe Archuleta, Gerard Cambon and Beatrice Wood, in addition to baskets and ceramic vessels, a carved and painted wood barber pole and needlepoint samplers.
