Explore intriguing aspects of Chinese history, culture, and art with SDCHM?s monthly lecture series presented by Kathleen Dang. Hakkas, 客家, a significant Chinese population with a name that literally means ?guest families? is noted as the most diasporic out of the many Chinese populations. The people who are Hakka are connected by a distinct language and a unique cultural history and not by being from a specific region in China. Today, Hakka people find an instant affinity with other Hakka, regardless of where they are from and where they are now living. The language, cultural customs, and extreme attention to ancestry will be explored.
