Uncategorized Download To My Calendar
Quite simply one of the greatest of filmmakers, said Jean-Luc Godard of Kenji Mizoguchi. Ugetsu, a ghost story like no other, is surely the Japanese director's supreme achievement. Derived from works by Akinari Ueda and Guy de Maupassant, this haunting tale of love and loss tells the story of two simple men, a potter and a farmer, who fulfill their dreams?only to find them lacking. Winner of the Silver Lion at the Venice Film Festival, Ugetsu is one of the most beautiful films ever made. Starring Machiko Kyo and Masayuki Mori, both of whom also appear in Rashomon. This film is featured in new 4K digital restoration, fully subtitled.
