This year, the Athenaeum presents six award-winning ensembles for its 2017-2018 chamber music concert series. Each of these ensembles is new and each has already generated huge international ?buzz.? Enjoy chamber music as it was intended?in a warm, intimate setting, where you are treated as a guest in our historic home.
All concerts are followed by a private reception with the artists.
On Saturday, Oct. 21, the 46 brief songs in Hugo Wolf?s song cycle "Italienisches Liederbuch" (?Italian Songbook?) will be performed as a dramatic dialogue.
This charming ?mini-opera? about love features Ashley Robillard (soprano) and Dennis Chmelensky (baritone), accompanied by pianist Mikael Eliasen, artistic director of the Curtis Opera Theatre.
