The San Diego Symphony will screen "Amadeus," the 1984 Academy Award-winning film about Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
Directed by Milo? Forman and based on the play by Peter Shaffer, the story is a fictionalized biography that follows Italian composer Antonio Salieri at the court of Emperor Joseph II and Salieri's jealous vendetta against his younger upstart rival, the irrepressible genius Mozart. The film makes extensive use of Mozart?s music, including his unfinished Requiem.
The symphony will perform Mozart's Requiem Nov. 17 through 19.
