Drummer, producer, and composer Salin describes her music as “Afro Isan Soul,” a style inspired by the folk traditions of Northeast Thailand, the psychedelia of 1970s West Africa, along with jazz, funk, and soul. An inventive bandleader with a magnetic presence behind the drums, she brings these influences together with confidence, creativity, and an unmistakably fresh point of view. Her breakthrough album Rammana has earned praise from KEXP and audiences at Winter Jazzfest, with TIDAL calling it “an unforgettable meeting of musical worlds.” Joining us at The Loft with her eclectic ensemble, Salin invites audiences to experience a joyful performance as an emerging artist expanding the boundaries of contemporary jazz.
