| 10:30 AM | Claudia Lyra Brazilian Stories and Music Come and enjoy the joyful Brazilian music and storytime. Musician Claudia Lyra brings musical instruments so that the audience can participate too!
Music and movement for kids and families with Brazilian duo, Do Re Tree. An interactive performance that includes traditional songs, movement, storytelling, percussion, and body music. The songs and storytelling are based on Brazilian oral traditions relating to aspects such as animals, nature, folktales and children's music. The percussion pieces will utilize traditional Brazilian instruments such as the berimbau and caxixi, which are handmade out of natural materials such as wood, gourds, and animal skins.
This program is part of the Summer Reading Program. San Diego residents of all ages are encouraged to Plant a Seed..Read! Families and visitors of all ages are invited to explore the journey of a Persian carpet, from design and wool preparation to dyeing and weaving, and to learn more about the skill, tradition, and imagination carried in each work. The songs and storytelling are based on Brazilian oral traditions relating to aspects such as animals, nature, folktales and children's music. The percussion pieces will utilize traditional Brazilian instruments such as the berimbau and caxixi, which are handmade out of natural materials such as wood, gourds, and animal skins.
