Diane Powers? annual Latin American Festival & Mata Ortiz Pottery Market serves up one of the nation?s most extensive collections of authentic Mexican folk art, traditional clothing and textiles, colorful collectibles and dazzling jewelry - in addition to nonstop musical entertainment, by Latin American folk band Tinku, and authentic Mexican cuisine.

The weekend of August 3 to 5, Bazaar del Mundo's parking lot will be transformed into a vibrant marketplace ensconced beneath a colorful array of shading umbrellas, where festival-goers can enjoy live demonstrations as artists hack away at wooden stumps to reveal life-like animal figures, weave hand-pulled wool into intricate textiles and skillfully paint delicate designs onto hand-formed clay pots.

Guest artisans from Chihuahua, Mexico, are expected, creating eye-popping Mata Ortiz pottery, a centuries-old art form renowned for its hand-painted geometric and ancestral symbols. Artisans from Mexico, Guatemala, Peru, Ecuador and various other Latin American countries will each showcase their traditional crafts and highly sought-after hand-made goods.
