San Diego native Amy Finley received her Grand Diplome in cuisine and pastry from Gregoire-Ferrandi in Paris, France, and was the pastry chef at Laurel Restaurant and Bar in 2001 before returning to France, where she cooked at Rose Bakery. In 2007, Amy was the season three winner of ?The Next Food Network Star? on Food Network, and then the host of ?The Gourmet Next Door.? Her column, Family Style, ran in Bon Appetit magazine in 2008. In 2011 she published a memoir, How to Eat a Small Country, chronicling the six months she and her family spent living (and cooking!) on a farm in rural Burgundy and road tripping (and eating!) through the French countryside. Anthony Bourdain called it a ?great read filled with joyous bites.? Amy?s special ?Cook the Book? classes are a seasonally inspired tour through some of Amy?s favorite regional French dishes. The price of this class includes a signed paperback copy of amy?s book, How to Eat a Small Country."
