In Hawaiian, “po’o” means “head,” so a lei po’o is a head lei. You’ll make a beautiful 21-inch Lei Po’o using a stunning assortment of plumerias, seasonal flowers, and greenery (dependent on availability). You’ll learn the wili (pronounced “vee-lee” meaning to wind or twist) method to make your Lei Po’o. Your teacher is award-winning San Diego lei maker Margery Ohlson. She’ll share information about how to prepare the materials and prolong the life of your Lei Po’o. She will talk about lei culture and lei etiquette, all while Hawaiian music plays softly in the background.
