oin us for a free concert of Ukrainian bandura music at the Del Mar Library, featuring Luke Lashchuk Miller. Luke, a second-generation Ukrainian American and native San Diegan, began studying the bandura at age 13 under the late Andrij Kytasty of the renowned Kytasty family of bandurists. In 2003, he was invited to join the 107-year-old Ukrainian Bandurist Chorus, a recipient of a National Endowment for the Arts award. With the ensemble, he has toured throughout Western Europe and North America, and in 2018 returned to Ukraine for the Chorus’s 100th Anniversary Tour. Luke lives in Pacific Beach with his wife and two children, and together they are active members of San Diego’s Ukrainian community.
