In this roundtable conversation, three historians of the United States and Latin America, Dana Frank (UC-Santa Cruz), Miguel Tinker Salas (Pomona College), and Sara Kozameh (UC-San Diego), will discuss U.S. imperialism in Latin America and beyond in light of the invasion of Venezuela in January that resulted in the arrest of Venezuela's president, Nicolás Maduro. The participants will contextualize recent events in the longer historical process of U.S. empire in Latin America and discuss the causes, meanings, and effects of the resurgence of U.S. imperialist ambitions.
